Wick Care

Your candle was created using a sustainable wooden wick with a cotton core. They burn differently compared to traditional cotton wicks, they burn cleaner, slower and create a lovely crackling while burning. However they do require some extra care.

To ensure your candle burns to is full potential follow these tips and tricks below.

1) Make sure you trim your wick before each use, at least to 5mm tall. The wick needs to be trimmed to remove as much charred wood from the previous burn. This will help encourage a nice clean burn free from soot and smoke.

Not trimming your wood wick appropriately may cause the flame to extinguish itself, as it won't be able to stay lit long enough to the fuel the flame or can cause the flame to getbig and hotter than it should be.

To trim the wick we recommend using a wick trimmer however you can also snap the charred bits off or even use a nail clipper.

2) On the first burn allow enough time for the wax to melt completely to the edges of the container to prevent "tunneling". Usually around 4-5 hours.

3)Make sure to never burn your candle all the way to the end.
